Numerical Modeling and Experimental Study on the Material Removal Process Using Ultrasonic Vibration-Assisted Abrasive Water Jet

Currently, micro-abrasive water jet machining has the problem of insufficient processing capacity in central area. To assist with improving efficiency, ultrasonic vibration is introduced. First, based on computational fluid dynamics method, mathematical model three-dimensional shape prediction micro-holes established using a mixed model, standard k-ε discrete phase and dynamic mesh model. The effects static pressure, velocity field, abrasive particle motion state, material erosion rate stagnation zone are studied. Then accuracy verified by comparing two-dimensional section experimental data simulated calculating mean square deviation. used to further analyze optimal frequency specific influence amplitude effect machining. above research results have profound guiding significance for determining how use
